anyone know how to separately record skype and mic from game audio?

What do you use to record? I use fraps and I just enable mulltichannel audio so I can edit it in premiere.

Fraps records via device. It should separate the audio from your mic and your other sounds but not for everyone else in the call.  I used to use camtasia and I might check it out again and see if it can do that.

FRAPS is complete GARBAGE, just most well known and people who promote it don't know about the other superior software that doesn't hammer the hell out of your system.

That last part I completely disagree with. Sure, the performance hit may be less but there will always be one. It's almost always quite significant as well when it's software based.

Dxtory is where it's at. FRAPS is nothing now, just some program people used back when there was no other real competition.

Right click the video file and click 'Extract Audio Stream'. Should extract two different files, the microphone and the in game audio/skype chat.

I found Bandicam was awesome. So many settings. I used the trial of Bandicam to record a Pokemon lets play. Worked perfectly.

If I were to purchase any recording software my choice would be Bandicam for video and Audacity for audio.
