Would my system boot speed or loading times of any application benefit if i added an ssd to my system , does a fast boot and quick loading times b/w apps only require an ssd, or will my system not take advantage of a good ssd , i am a noob when it comes to this . My system specs are:

i3 4130 3.4 GHz

HD 7770

1 TB HDD Seagate Barracuda 7200 rpm

Asus H81M-K Motherboard

Windows 8.1 64 bit

Overall what i am going to be putting in this SSD is mainly just my OS , i will refer to the ssd optimization guides later on , but for now i guess my question is should i buy one and will this system really be able to handle it (if that even is an issue) , or do these factors (loading times and boot times) mainly depend on a processor , the Hard drive speed ,or just ram , although i know these things also do come into play but will adding an ssd be better for me ?

Thanks in advance smile.png

Yes, it will help. It will be worlds faster with an SSD, that's their main draw.

If you do buy one, update the firmware before you install anything on it. Once Windows is installed, you cannot update the firmware again.

Also, any programs you run should be on the SSD. Otherwise they'll be just as slow. Especially ones that run during start up.

You should always put an SSD and install the most used Programs there, apart from the OS

Your CPU is fine, ssd will give a very nice boost to everything - boot time, loading app's etc.

Windows 8 has a system boost feature that works with ssd's - Be sure to enable.

I would recommend a 256GB if you can afford it, but they're not really expensive today anyway.

The Crucial mx100 256GB is a good choice and affordable.

The most common result of insufficient wattage is a paperweight that looks like a PC

Gonna add more SSD's to my system sooner or later, will never by an HDD again. Yes, buy an SSD, I cut my load times in half, for reals.
