HTC One M8, Samsung Galaxy S5 Or Sony Xperia Z2?

So I'm getting a new phone in a few days. I have a hard time choosing between The One M8, Galaxy S5 and Xperia z2. I'd like to know what everyone thinks I should get, and why.

Note 3 if you have big hands

Z3 comes out next month so...not the Z2.

I personally don't like the Samsung, but that's personal preference (I hate TouchWiz and the design of the phone).

So...M8?

It's a hard choice, damn. I would go for the m8 if i want a really really premium-ly build phone, z2 if i was worried about dropping it in a sink, or showering with a phone(for whatever reason??) and high enough build quality. I would not go for the s5 thou because i personally started to dislike Samsung's crap (bloatware and general inconveniences) and the craptastic plastic is a big no for me. In your case, i don't know. My recommendation is to choose between Z2 and m8. I would go for the z2 thou - spending that much on a phone that can die when i spill my drink on it, hell no! Rather have that waterproofness :D

You're making my decision harder D: Waterproofness is damn cool but I don't think it's something I really need..

The z3 might be introduced next month but actual distribution is some time away from that as well.

On the Op question, I'm kinda a Sony fan boy but yeah if you want that it might be worthwhile to wait for the z3 release(either for that phone or for the z2 to go down in price)

If not I'd go for the HTC, better build quality better software, and arguably better screen. The 2 thing that really goes for the Samsung is the better camera and replaceable battery.

Yeah it's leaning towards that. It seems like a great phone :)

Z3 Isn't really a option since I'm getting a phone on monday. Do you think I should get the M8 or Z2 since? Since I can't wait for the Z3 to come out.

O and almost forgot. After you buy your phone, PAY FOR INSURANCE. I killed my phone out of stupidity after 3 months of using it. It was a 90$ phone but it still was not cool. So yeah when you are gonna spend 15 times that, strongly consider insuring it.

My insurance covers my phone too, I'd have to pay about $150 to get it replaced though.

Well features wise the two offer roughly the same, both have nice shiny design, the Sony has the added benefit of water/dust proofness apart from that both have micro sd slots, dual front facing speaker (although it's still said the HTC is better), also I think the HTC has an ir blaster(not that it's a major selling point I guess) so it boils down to which phone looks prettier in your opinion and the user experience, the Sony is more stock-like, the HTC has its own stuff as well. Oh and the Sony has a pretty good camera as well, the HTC cameras have been criticised going back for years now and this is no exception. I personally would steer you towards the Sony more based on how I feel which is better value. But do some more research on it to make sure that it really is the best choice for you.

Although bear in mind I use a 3 year old phone because I'm a broke ass dude and all these come from reading and watching lots of reviews on the phones and some other feedbacks and research :)

I think I'm gonna go with the htc one m8. The Z2 looks cool but from what I've heard it's not as comfortable to hold as the M8. And after all, our prophet (Linus) uses the M8 so whichever I get would be a good choice I guess ;)

From experience a uni-body design can survive a bit of water anyway, my One X+ was fine after I pulled it off the bottom of a pond.

IMO the M8 runs rings around the S5 in terms of hardware that matters (speakers, build, display) and with it's UI. Haven't used an Xperia, but my inner HTC-fanboy says go the M8.

Well then, I'll go get the M8 on monday then :) By the way, why was your one x+ in the bottom of a pond?

Every now and then I go out photographing frogs &/or reptiles. I was leaning over a pond framing an image and it slid from my shirt pocket.

So hardly a situation many people find themselves in haha.
