G502 vs G402

ShadowCaptain

According to Logitech.com, G502 is 168 grams (and each of the five weights is 3.6 grams) and G402 is 144 grams. The weights are with cable included.

Thanks that is quite helpful I find my G500 heavy without weights so maybe I will wait for the 402

I wouldn't think so, though if you are concerned about that than you really should try and find a hand comparison, or maybe you could go to your local tech/gaming store and see if they have one you could try out.

Yeah this is England, and I live in the countryside so that is 100% impossible to do

In fact the Func is barely available in England, there is literaelly like 1 left in stock on amazon

If you are used to Logitech stuff, and have the logitech Gaming Software, then it would be best to stick to their mice.

I have a g502, and i really recommend it. I've only ever felt that it was a little heavy once (recently when i got into sniping in BF4), and i use the mouse buttons so much, that i don't use the keyboard unless i'm typing or gaming!

There is zero acceleration

Also does the g402 have "Delta Zero Technology" (i lol at it, but still it does mean something) And what about surface tuning?

It might be

I noticed those things (though the mouse goes in a bungee and is cable tied away so I dont really care

but I know it has this new accelerometer prediction engine. Apparently its the sensor from the G100 which is fantastic but has this prediction feature for low sensitivity gamers

My 2 thoughts are

1) does the G502 loose tracking at high speeds

2) the does g402 have any innacuracies switching between sensor tech

I guess nobody really knows the answers

I think the g502 is the one, I dont want to jump in blind like I did with the G500 and regret it

The G502 does never lose tracking at high speeds. It has a max speed of about 7+ m/s.

The G402 has a tracking problem atm with vertical swipes, it should be fixable by software, but it's still there atm.

The G502 has the superior sensor, but the G402 has the superior weight and button placement IMO. The scrollwheel is also rubberized. I like the tilt function of the G502 wheel and the free spin mode. All the other buttons except for the sniper button also work really well for me, so I'm quite happy with the G502. I'm probably getting a G402 though, but now before my favorite webstore has it in stock, which should be in about 3 weeks.

Just get the G502. At realistic DPI and speed you should have great tracking.

Git Gud.

G502 it is, I am worried about sensor problems, my g500 skips and jumps sometimes, and sometimes the sensitivity changes strangly, I want reliability and think the g502 offers this more

The G502 has the best sensor ever made, so I don't think you should have any problems at all ;)

  • 1 year later...

So did you get the G502? I'm considering buying it but a lot of people are complaining about the weight and the scroll wheel and that's making me hesitant. I currently have a Deathadder 2013 and the wheel is giving me troubles and I feel like upgrading.

Let me know your thoughts if you actually bought the mouse. Thanks :)

Thanks. Does the scroll wheel make click sounds while being scrolled? I saw that in a video, I wonder if it's noisy because at night after everyone sleeps I only use the mouse and it would suck if there is constant click-sound while scrolling pages.

Never really noticed, it clicks just as loud as any mouse, you can always turn on infinite scroll

I never liked infinite scroll, not to mention that infinite scroll suffers from a problem on the g502. Also I've never had a mouse that clicks while scrolling, but maybe I have to get used to it. Anyway thanks for the information man, I'll most likely buy this mouse this week.

You have never had a mouse that clicks while scrolling?.. every mouse I have ever owned has... they have a little tactile bump

I have never had an issue with freescroll, and its a toggle, really useful for certain programs,

I bought a G400s before 6 months I guess. Got it for $15.

Middle click and Left click is littly mushy.

DPI increase button not working properly. Have to press it harder.

Going to RMA it soon.

Just my story.

imho, I'd choose G502.
