Budget gaming pc

Go to solution Solved by dragoon20005,

So i took some time to make a new confirguration. I came to the following one:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XpqqrH

I can buy this configuration for 760 euros.

Is this one better? Do I need another CPU cooler if I don't plan on overclocking (yet)? I want to keep the option open hence the K processor.

one problem

you picked a K series CPU

but you are running a B85 board

that wont work well as the CPU is OC ready but the board is not

get the non-K version if you want to use that board

like i said before

avoid the low end  CoolerMaster PSU

they will fail prematurely and destroy your PC

Hello,

I want to build a budget gaming pc and I have made a build on pcpartpicker.

link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bFqqrH

I couldnt find the case i wanted, it is a Cooler Master Force 500.

Can you guys please tell me if this build would work or what I should change?

I chose the 750w power supply because I want to use it for many many more years (possibly in a future build maybe? )

Please post your feed back!

Wattage does not necessarily determine length of use. If you intend to stick to only 1 graphics card for a while then you would do wise to get a very good 550-600W 80+ Gold/Bronze PSU.

As for the build you can do a bit better. Give me a moment to suggest the better parts for you.

thats not bad actually sure you dont need the PSU

You could probably maximise and get a better GPU for that budget though, let me give this a crack

I did 2, one with an i3 and one with an i5, both use the R9 280

i3 = PCPartPicker part list /  i3 Version costs : $565

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f314900cl8d8gbxm - Better RAM and cheaper

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-120g10650xr - Better PSU and 10 year warranty. Perfect If you do not go CF/SLI unless with low consumption cards.

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-r9280gaming3g - Better card for same price, can be OC'd to provide near same performance as 280X.

Also I recommend getting http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr212e20pkr2 if you get a case that it fits in. It's really good and perfect for FX-6300.

oh no not that PSU!!!

that PSU is a low end model from CM

drop the DVD drive and pick a 500-550 watt PSU like the one from Corsair CX500

see if you can squeeze a R9 280 3GB GPU but no XFX

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

He picked it for a reason I assume and no. DO NOT go with CX500. The CS550M is a much better choice.

Edit: He is right on the 280X though. See if you can get that instead and get an MSI R9 280X. Sapphire is clocked too low tbh and XFX cooling is the WORST for 280x (VRAM's not covered, temps get extreme)

So you recommend to him a low end PSU? The CX500 is really only a good option if you are on a tight budget. Otherwise I really suggest getting either CS550M or something similar.

USD prices translate damn near 95% to EUR. The cost transfers are stupidly unfair. An R9 290 from sapphire here is $400. In holland on average 360 euros... (Tri-x)

Thank you guys for all the suggestions but I have a question. I read that alot of the 270x and 280(x) have issues with artifacts and stuff... Do any of you have experiences with this? And what would be the best brand to purchase a 280(x) from? Also about some people saying I should buy an i5? That's double the cost of a Fx6300. I'm not really sure..

I5 > FX-6300 by miles in gaming because core for core the I5 is a lot stronger and not a lot of games can actually use more than 4 cores/threads.

As for best brand I would say MSI. Their cooler is good and their clock speed is high. I would recommend sapphire but they clock it at 850 (reference) which is silly. I could also recommend Gigabyte if I didn't hear things about the gigabyte cooler being trash for AMD cards.

If you want to be able to overclock at some point you should get a Z97 motherboard.

If you want a psu that will last for a while you will need to get one that is of better quality. Sadly one generally has to pay a fair bit more for a good psu. Check out anything by Seasonic or XFX. There are also some very good units by Superflower. The Antec HCG modular psu tend to be good. Corsair CX modular will do in a pinch.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

If you are getting the K processor you want a z87 board (or if you are getting the newer 4690k you want the z97), the b series are not designed for overclocking, also the stock cooler is ok but in a system like this I would personally not bother with a stock cooler above the penitum/i3 models, get a cheap cooler like the evo 212 if you do not want to spend loads on cooling, will allow a healthy overclock too

Otherwise the build looks fine dude! Either get a Z87 + 4670k OR z97 + 4690k OR b85 + none K

I replaced the power supply with a Corsair CS650M, and the motherboard with a MSI Z87-G43. Also added the evo 212 cooler. Thanks!
