Get a GTX 770 or a 4790k/4690k which you can overclock. I would go with an 770 because the GPU should be more expensive than the GPU  :).  Maybe you can afford to upgrade both then I would go with the 4690k as a CPU.

You may want to rethink that build you posted here a bit. That SSD is total crap, the motherboard will have a hard time supporting a 8 core cpu, you should really have an aftermarket cooler with an 8320, and you can get 280s for wayyy less than that.

Sorry I went .93 cents over....@ThyFeared this was based on yours but with serious improvements...the maximus VI formula is outdated they have a new VII verison, also 300+ CAD for an outdated board? You can do better matching the ram with the motherboard and the pro series is not ideal for this build...it costs too much...for the same price as your pro series I got an evo...twice the size...also the videocard and psu are outdated...I managed to squeeze in a gold rated psu with crossfire compatibility for just a little more and a better graphics card. Alternatively you could stay with the same psu and focus it all into the graphics card but I thought this way you would be able to crossfire in the future without having to upgrade the psu and spend even more money.

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

The SSD is fine, the motherboard is also fine, change to a 970 gaming if you must, 280=/=280x

Looks good but the PSU is a bit overkill isn't it?
