what u think? probably would run this with a 770 250ohm and hd 650.

They're both reputable companies and both would work. But I'm an "audio noob" It'll be better than onboard but will it be the best thing you can get I dont think so. will it run the headsets great probably

Why are wasting that much on an amplifier?

This is dac/amp combo is not any good anyways I figured out later on. I am looking at the V100 atm, probably combining that with a hp a3 or a4 - works much better and is "cost efficient".

and why such amp? because i want to get a real good hifi phone in the end of this year, I really need V100 or better. Don't you think?

I have no idea how these companies can charge so much money for such niche products.. They don't bring anything other than their name to the mix.

I guess that's how they stay in business though, if 10 people buy their amp at $3,000 each, then their power regulators, lol, at another $1000 each, that's justifiable for them to stay in business.

But still, talk about audio e-peening

O2 and a D3 if you have to spend any amount of money over $100.

So you say a violectric V100 + fostex a4 is almost like = o2amp+odac ? And that with high-end hifi phones ofc, I am not talking DT880 or K701.

I don't have one, but I have read reviews, heard from people, and I know Barnacules (another youtuber) used one nicely for his HD800's.

Well I'm sold, from the cost and practicality standpoint and the sound I can't judge until it is on my desk^^ the price allows me to get my phones even faster, too :D ohh happy day

Not true at all. The o2 was designed with an HD 600 as a testing headphone I believe. It has

More than enough power even with low gain.

I have used my O2+ODAC with the:

HD650

K701/2

LCD-2

HE-500

Tesla T1

and all of them except the Tesla T1 and LCD-2 get loud enough with just current gain (the 1x gain mode) at less than half volume.  There are some people who don't get enough out of the amp, but that's up to how loud you like to listen.

"Pardon my French but this is just about the most ignorant blanket statement I've ever read. And though this is the internet, I'm not even exaggerating."

The HD650 is what I am aiming at to be pluged into the o2+odac, good to know that it works fine :)

Hey mate, can I plug something like A5+ speakers into the RCA ports back of the full moded o2+odac?

edit: nvm, obv i can not (input). this is for 3rd party dacs.

edit#2: but the RCA outputs of the "pure" o2 amp can be used for powered speakers like the A5+, right? and the inputs on the left for 3rd party dacs or onboard.

edit#3: nvm^^ you have a different layout/design than the folks in switzerland.
