Deciding between...

HTC ONE M8 hands down, but, if you cant afford it, then defo Nexus V.

I love my M8 soooo much.   The HTC one M8s camera is okay, not the best, not the worst.

Hi there,

I'm deciding between the HTC one M8, Samsung Galaxy S4, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s and Nexus 5... Of course the Nexus 5 and the Galaxy S4 are the cheapest but I have to save money if I can... Witch one is th best in the range of worth money for what I get? I like iPhone but I read a lot of the HTC One and the battery duration is impressive and is very fast... but the camera I haven't experiment a lot, only tested in the store of T-Mobile and that's is hahahaha but I liked very much.

Thanks

The Nexus 5 has a abysmal battery life. My mom owned it for a week before saying that it was almost un-usable and got the LG G2.

And with T-Mobile, look at the Sony Z1S too.
Also, decide between iOS and Android.

I would say between the M8, Galaxy S4, and the Z1S. I have not played with the M8, but i'm pretty sure it's awesome. I have used the GS4 and I own the Z1S.

The GS4 has a great camera, and the Sony's is past great (21.5mp). The Sony is waterproof, which I have used countless times. (Wash it in the sink, have it in a waterballon fight, underwater video capture)

But the M8 has the front speakers. (And is also expensive) The Sony Z2 has front speakers aswell, but does not come on contract.

iOS isn't that great. Sure the applications look noice and clean but Android is so much better.

Get the HTC One, im going to get one when my contract is up on my iPhone.

Personally i think the build quality of the HTC one is worth the extra money.

I would chose the note 3 because it's powerful cpu, 3gb  of ram and huge screen to watch videos and play games on.

Here's Slicks review on it:

Here's Slicks review on it:

The Note 3 has some of the most bloated software possible, there is no need for 3GB of ram on AOSP in any practical situation (from personal experience), it's just that touchwiz has become so bloated they need this hardware.the note 3 also doesn't have the best build quality. It's SOC is also outdated by the m8, which would be the best choice IMO.

Z2 is also VERY good, I just don't have enough experience with the software to comment on it in that aspect. The z2 has the advantage of a massive battery over the m8 along with a much beefier and less gimmicky camera. Along with 3GB of ram as if it would matter.

The battery life really isn't that bad on the Nexus 5. I have mine at 50% screen brightness, pretty heavy use and I can easily last a full day.

And the Optimus G, which wasn't great but wasn't that bad either.

The N5 has 2300. The OS is also a lot lighter, and more optimized for battery life than the OS on the G and previous versions of Android.

Installing a battery app helps, but honestly it's really not bad at all. With lighter use I've gone 2 days, and that's leaving it on overnight.

Wow you're lucky. Ever since updating to 4.4.4 I'm lucky to get half a day of battery with <25% brightness.

Different people seem to get vastly different results. Must be something you have installed, or you play a lot of games.

For example MKBHD gets much, much improved battery life with Android L where as people are complaining about the opposite.

Yeah it's weird. I play 0 games and I've made sure that none of my apps are acting up. I bought a Note 3 off of Swappa to get a longer battery life but once it forced me to update to 4.4.2 I'm not even getting a day out of that anymore. I might have to switch back to iOS if the updates consistently ruin the phone's usability.

Did you install all of the same apps on both devices? Definitely sounds like there's something you're doing that's eating up your battery. Can't really blame the OS, considering it's not something everyone has issues with.

Do you use LTE? Might be that in your area the LTE coverage is too weak, and the radio is constantly looking for a better connection.

I have the same apps but almost all of my battery is being eaten by the screen, Android System, Android OS and Google Play Services. I have pretty good cell service all day and the battery usage stats shows almost all green for mobile network signal. I've even tried hard resets and that hasn't helped.

I think around 2-5 hours usually.

That's not bad at all. I average around 4, with mostly network coverage and a few hours of wifi.

If you're on your phone for more than 1/2 the time you're awake, then I think you might have a problem ;)
