Hey guys. I'm a hardcore gamer\youtuber\streamer. My internet is fast but it has its moments were it cuts out. Lags and just won't work. My router is about 20-30 feet away from my PC. That's going through the walls etc. I'm wondering if I were to add another router but put it in my room and connect my PC and game console to it via Ethernet would it be A. Faster? And B. Not cut out and lagg. Hope someone can help. Thx

You can add a range extender.

A range extender/ better ranged router as mentioned before would be a good solution. Ethernet is always the best choice but you can better accommodate wi-fi to make it not so terrible. My router currently is an Asus AC68U and has dual-band 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wi-fi. If the device supports it 5Ghz is incredible, though it has a limited range.

If your router is a Modem + Router. Move the whole thing to your room and connect it through Ethernet. You get speeds like 1000mb/sec with a Cat6 cable if not even higher speeds

CPU: i5 25000 3.3 GHz             Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V-LK          Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8 GB           Display: Samsung SD24 24" 1080p

GPU: EVGA GTX 660 SC 2 GB     Sound: Razer Kraken pro                            PSU: Rosewill 630 watt                    Storage 1: 128 GB Adata XPG SX900 SSD

Case: Rosewill Challenger       CPU Cooler: Corsair h80i                    Mouse: Corsair M65                                   Storage 2: Seagate 2 TB HDD

If you can run a cable then that would be best. Even with a good wireless connection there can still be dropped packets causing a bit of lag and interference can also cause issues. You can use the a range extender as others suggested but that just aids in signal strength, you can still have interference and dropped packets. Power-line adapters are an awesome solution cause you don't have the issues of wireless and don't have to run a cable across the house.

So basically the best solution is either run a cable or use power-line adapters.
