CPU: AMD FX-8320
GPU: 2x MSI R9 290 Gaming edition

It took longer than expected, but finnaly here are the watercooling parts I'm about to buy:

Radiator: Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 Full Copper 280mm (€76.00)
Radiator: Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 Full Copper 420mm (€100.00)
Pump+Res: EK-D5 Vario X-RES 100 incl. pump (€127.00)
GPU Block: EK-FC R9-290X - Acetal [Rev.2.0] (€95.00)
GPU Block: EK-FC R9-290X - Acetal [Rev.2.0] (€95.00)
CPU Block: EK-Supremacy - Acetal + Copper (€61.00)
Tubes: PrimoChill PrimoFlex Advanced LRT 3/8 ID - 5/8 OD - Crystal Clear (€8.00)
Fittings: 10MM (3/8 ID - 5/8 OD) Monsoon Schroeffitting - Red Six Pack (€32.00)
Fittings: 10MM (3/8 ID - 5/8 OD) Monsoon Schroeffitting - Red Six Pack (€32.00)
Total: €626.00

I'll be using the 5x pH-F140SP that were included with my Enthoo Primo. Is this enough rad space for this build if I OC the GPU's & CPU? I basically want to squeeze the max out of them, without damaging/shortening their lives of course smile.gif. Also I'd like this build to be silent, the R9's are a bit noisy and my current cooler for the CPU is quite noisy too, which is frustrating me. Now, I've read that per 50-100 TDP you need a 120x120 rad for a silent build, Calculated I got 675 TDP. I'll probably mount the 280 rad on the bot, the 420 on top. Would I need some case fans on the front, or should I be fine?

I'm double checking everything so I don't end up having to buy additional items because I messed up somewhere.

Thanks in advance!

get some 90° fittings to be sure, maybe 1 or 2, you never know when those will come in handy

You have money for 2 R9 290's but get an FX-8320? I highly recommend getting an I5-4690k with a good Z97 motherboard instead.

Might do that indeed, thanks.

When I bought the R9 290's I was doubting between them or a 780 Ti. I chose the 2x R9 290 because they were equal in price. Also I already got my parts, not gonna swap them out. It's a bit of a gamble I took. I'm hoping that more cores will become more important in future games, that's why I chose an FX-8320 above the i5 4670k/ i7 4770k when I built the system (3 months ago I believe).

Still, main question remains. Enough rad space to cool those hot GPU's+CPU?

The Enthoo Primo can take a 4x120 UT60 in the top and bottom. If you want the best cooling to noise performance for your CPU and GPU(s) and have the money for it, do that. The more rad surface are, the slower you can run your fans.

Just use your rads to work with convection. Bottom rad intake, top rad exhaust. You should but fine, but you can put intake and exhaust fans in free fan ports if you feel the need for it.

Also I recommend you take the acetal + nickel versions of your waterblocks, the nickel plating on the copper helps better protect against water corrosion (keeps your waterblocks looking good for longer).

I would use the PH-F140HP for the radiators as they have higher static pressure with the same noise level. The 50-100 TDP rule of needing a 120x120mm radiator is a bit old IMO as when that rule was accepted the heat out put of the parts were not like today and with the heat from the new AMD GPUs you will sure need more cooling performance but you are on the right track by going to 140mm radiators.

You will need some fans in front and i would also put one in the back. I didn't see any coolant so i guess you will be using distilled water??? Get a silver kill coil or bullet for you loop. Also, a good fan splitter or hub would be needed.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.

Didn't think of that Acetal + nickel thing. I thought I'd better keep amount of different materials to a minimum. But I'll change those then, thanks. The thing about the double 480's is that it would increase the pricetag of this build by roughly €188. I'll think about it.

Edit: Given it some thought. 420 in top, 480 in bot. Use the spare 2 140mm fans as front intake fans. This would cost me €88-ish more.
