Laptop for the Mother

Guest

So my mums MacBook Pro's in its last days, its done her 4 years or knocking around, very little cleaning and was even dropped down the stairs a year n a half ago, so fair play, it's certainly lasted her! Now she has a budget of around £600 give or take, wants it to last a decent time and it needs to be Windows for her College course she's going to be taking. I'm not really too sure what to recommend her, i'm better with desktop rigs, so what can you guys recommend?

Cheers,

Spook

If not another MacBook then something Lenovo. I think something along these lines would be good. :)

I doubt his mother will use a GT645M. He's maybe searching a light laptop with good battery life and fast at basic tasks AKA i3/i5 + iGPU and a SSD. But it must be cheap.

something like this but cheaper: http://www.novatech.co.uk/laptop/range/novatechnfinityn1416.html

Click "Customize system" and pick the first SSD, brings it to £428. (link below)

Yea she doesn't need anything overly amazing, but at the same time she doesnt want to cheap out, hence the £600ish mark. She'll be using a lot of office and main web browsing (Always on Facebook) along with her chunky iTunes library.

And if you can affor it you'd choose the Intel I5 4210M, though your mother won't use it xD...

What they like build wise? Reliable, dont feel cheap and nasty with a lot of flex?

They are quality mate, i'm not a fan of laptops, but i've ordered 2 nspire laptops in the past, 1 for a friend, 1 for a sister and they were fine in build quality.

As for Novatech itself, they're good - i used to use them when i was back in Portsmouth for hardware parts.
