If they both are analog (3.5mm) you just have to plug audio cable (green) from one you will use as headset and mic (red) from one you use as mic. If one or both are USB I think you have to work with their drivers. I haven't used USB stuff in years and don't really know how two devices decide which is used as output device.

Wouldn't you need a 4-pole 3.5mm jack to mic and audio 3.5mm?

BTW, I reckon phone headset have only one jack so apparently he can't listen to it while you mic as he would have to choose b/w two.

There are splitters to solve that problem. Connecting them to both rear and front ports would still be same as connecting them as separed to rear or using anbother type of splitter.

The thing is i tried this and my sound card didnt "find" the microphone (i know it works , i use it daily on my phone). My sound card is a asus xonar dg bulk.

For the phone headset, you would need a splitter that splits the 4 pole into input and output poles. That means, spending money to solve the problem, at which points getting a cheap $2 to $10 mic would be a better option.

Aha ok thanks for the info:D!
