Displayport and HDMI

Hi everybody.

 

The monitor I have has an HDMI and VGA connector. The graphics I am buying has a HDMI, DVI, and Displayport connector.

 

My question is: is it better to run just straight HDMI, or a displayport to HDMI cable or does it not matter?
