Hey guys, this is my first time building a pc. As I'm restricted to my budget, I can only afford one of these...Which of these is the best bang for my buck? (I plan to edit some videos using AE and Premiere Pro and play some games like BF 4, AC )

AMD FX 8320+ MSI 280X Gaming

Intel Core i5 4690k + MSI R9 280 Gaming

Thank you.

AMD FX 8320+ MSI 280X Gaming

Intel Core i5 4690k + MSI R9 280 Gaming

Thank you.

Core i5 for Singlethreaded performance winning the lead here. (Windows stuff, installing programs, using programs)

AMD FX 8320+ for Multithreaded performance winning the lead here. (Everything else thats with a heavier load and multithreaded)

In Gaming, both are so close you'd not know the difference. MinFPS may favour the Intel Singlethreaded performance.

280x VS 280

280's are usually 'so close it isn't funny' to the 280x performance, and with overclocking your there.

If you havn't noticed I'm already in favour of the Core i5/280 because Performance overall (Inside and outside of Gaming) is best in this regard.

Each to his own.. of course. But this is what I would pick.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I'd get the i5, I use a 4690K and the same card (280 is a rebrand 7950) and I run all my games just fine.

Amd is nice, but a well clocked i5 wrecks things. :D

get the i5. don`t even think when you make the choice. if you don`t oc gen a non K i5

no it doesn`t win nothing not even for multithread

Definitly the 4690k and the 280. You won't notice too much of a drop from not getting the 280x if not nothing at all with some OCing (referring to GPU)

4690k

The i5 is pretty much better at everything now, slightly better in gaming and vastly superior in editing and the chipset benefits are awesome as well as the amd 990fx chipet has been here for a while now.
