My 900D Build

azrealloki

First off, I know I didn't do a full custom watercooled build. I didn't want to deal with the hassle or pay another $1000 plus for the components. Just a really clean build with a lot of power. Rampage IV Extreme, 3930K @ 4.4Ghz, 32 GB of Corsair Dominator @ 1866Mhz, 3x Xfx 7970's in Crossfire, H100i, 12 Corsair fans, Corsair AX1200 with Corsair individually sleeved cable kit, OCZ 256 GB Vertex 4 w/ Windows 7 Pro, OCZ 256 GB Vertex 4 w/ Windows 8 Pro, Corsair Force 3 120 GB w/ Fedora 18, 2x Western Digital 2 TB Green drives, and a Western Digital 2 TB Black drive. Sorry about the quality of the pictures, I took them with my phone. Thanks. Update: Since my build, I have also added an Asus Xonar Essence STX, but don't have a pic of that installed in the rig.

Damn, that's missing some custom watercooling. ;)

Otherwise it would be perfect. :)

The gpus say ghost on them that's pretty cool and very nice build

Why did you buy 900d if you we're not going to do a custom loop?

You can't walk out of your own story - Rango

I wanted the extra space to cool the cards. I had a Silverstone TJ09, and the cards didn't have enough room to breathe.

there's enough space in there to do another full build!

First off, I know I didn't do a full custom watercooled build.

You say that as if it's an apology. As an air cooling purist I frankly am sick of the watercooling builds here. Hell, all but the lowest binned CPUs these days will reach their dielectric barrier before they reach their thermal barrier on good air cooling. I can understand water cooling GPUs though.

Sorry if I seem ranty but you shouldn't apologize for building the way you want! Nice job by the way, though you're not really using the space...

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

I moved the drive cages down to the lower part of the case, for more direct airflow to the cards. That's why there is empty space there.

Tbh it's a massive waste of a good case to put just that in especially when the case is expensive.

Looks pretty good, those graphics cards look beast, but I have to agree, that case is a bit wasted if you're not filling it with radiators.

Hey Bro - Don't let them beat you up! Space is good, If your happy that's what counts! I would look into blanking out that area with some black Acrylic or you might try to mod some kind of a light show object that you could mount in that area to fill the space. Enjoy Man these are incredible cases!

Nice build OP! And who cares what you put in it. Its your case and what you do with it is your prerogative. Not everybody is into custom water cooling.

Sweet build man.

As long as you happy with what you got thats all that matters.

Im just curious, a lot of people now days talk about positive static pressure.

I see you have in essence 6 fans pulling air out and im assuming you have 3 fans pulling in air so technically speaking you have a negative static pressure within your case.

Im kinda noob when it comes to this but my question is, are you finding a lot of dust in your case?

azrealloki - Hey man, First rule to building a 900D is if you don't water cool people kick you in the shin's, Ha ha I like your case and wish you could get some better pictures to show us. So have you been doing some gaming on that awesome card setup. I'll bet this thing is as smooth as a dream. I was wanting a 3930K setup for ever. I couldn't help trying to put 64GB of Ram that I could never use, 32GB is a good choice! That thing would be a rendering monster.

Keep in mind you built this for yourself, It is awesome! builds are never done and they have shin guards at the sporting goods store. B)

Dust hasn't really been a problem.  As far as the fans go, I also have 2 more intake fans on the bottom windowed side of the case bringing in air to the power supply.  So there are 5 intake fans(3 front, and 2 bottom), and 5 exhausting(1 back, and 4 on top), and with the filters, no dust is getting inside.
