Posted July 25, 2014 Hello everyone! I was looking at mATX motherboards for a possible build om saving up for, and noticed that most mATX boards only support 1 16x 3.0 PCIe lane, but 2 of the 16x 2.0? The GTX 780 I want, says it reqiures 1 16x 3.0; will this mean i won't be able to run SLI 780's? The motherboard I want is the ASUS Z97M-PLUS (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132130) And the GPU(s) was the ASUS Direct CUII ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121779&cm_re=780-_-14-121-779-_-Product). Thanks in advance!

Posted July 25, 2014 That mobo is not a good choice for sli. I suggest the gigabyte z97mx-gaming 5 or z97m oc formula, both have 2x pci e 3.0 slots and more features. Posted July 25, 2014 That motherboard cannot do SLI because SLI requires at least PCI Express x8 for each card, and that board only provided x4 in the second PCIe slot.
