you can test your hard drive speed (ssd) as well with it, it's a pretty complete tool!

I use it all the time to test overclocking gains.

Here, have a look at all the test it can do, the CPU ones a pretty extensive:

So if i look at CPU comparisons on CPUboss, Passmark is a good indicator of performance?

So if i look at CPU comparisons on CPUboss, Passmark is a good indicator of performance?

ahhh no, not really because it makes some weird stuff...like the fact that SINGLE-THREAD accounts for the same portion of the score as say the sorting score, while in the real world it's pretty much all about single-thread performance (or at least in regard to gaming it's really important it's a deal breaker) so no i would not say it's accurate or ''fair'' by any means.

If you compare for example an intel i5 vs another intel i5 it is a good indication, yes...but if you compare say an amd FX with an intel chip, no it's not a good indicator of real world performance difference.

Another example would be this:

There is a test called Floating point math at wich my old FX-8320 was doing better than my core i7 due to the fact that it has 8 FPU (floating point unit) but in the real world those are pretty much useless 90%+ of the time but this was accounted for 1/9th of the score like every other tests, while the single-thread of the AMD was terrible and was also acco0unted 1/9th of the score...for it to be reliable the FPU score should have been accounted for like 1/19th of the score and single-thread score should be worth like 4/9th of the overall performance score, this is where the soft is flawed IMHO.

But as i said to measure how much effective an overclock is for example, or to compare CPU's among the same type of chips (same architecture at least) it could be good, yes.
