If it was frequent I'd probably fly... for a once off I'd drive.

Any excuse for a good road trip.

Buy a enough spacey camper van (or RV or whatever you call it. Travel trailer works too), and if necessary, a licence to drive one. Then you can go on  roadtrips whenever you want and you can stop at almost wherever you want, even sleep in it. Just owning one is a good excuse to go on a roadtrip to make some use of it.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

Kerbal Space Program gives you Megameters as well as Gigameters. Also kiloseconds and megaseconds... :D

EDIT: Did I forget to mention nanotons?

I do enjoy driving, but boy it gets tedious. Even driving from Slovenia to Dortmund was tedious, and it was just over 1000 km...

I would much rather fly, TYVM. Not to mention I love flying and aircraft in general.

Check out this beauty: Airbus A330 neo

Dem composite wings <3

Yeah I love flying too, just so cool... Most fun is to listen to every noise the aircraft makes and to determine what it is. Do they reverse thrust on landing? Do they do an engine check before they accelerate for takeoff? Stuff like that...

um... nanotons? you mean mg?

Have you every played KSP? Every mass rating is in tons. Using mods that help you to show some info about your craft, units will still be in tons and meters, no matter how big or small...

Gee, I would hope so.

I would drive. Especially as almost every holiday I go on is driven to. My dad and I specifically try to pick routes with the best roads to go on. Considering IMO Western Central Europe and the UK have the best driving roads, especially the British B-roads, I know what I would prefer to do.

Gee, I would hope so.

By that I mean just before takeoff on the runway when they get clearance. I think it is not a requirement to do this before every flight since if an engine dies on the runway after 10 seconds, that wouldn't be too bad... As long as they react to it quickly.

Would you rather drive a car to a destination (such as NYC -> Miami) or would you rather fly?

I would personally drive, did it 3 times from NY to Florida and about 10 times from NYC to Toronto, 1 time to Quebec City, Montreal, and back, and the one time we didn't drive to Florida we drove to D.C. and took a flight. I personally hate planes, sitting there doing nothing and being served food that tastes bland, plus there is nothing to see but clouds out the window. Driving is fun, you see the weirdest things plus the fun of counting down the miles.

Vote above!

NOTE: Driving applies to drivable places only, not like driving from New York to Korea. This poll only pertains to places accessible by cars.

None, because i hate "traveling" with my brother  <_<

Depends on the amount of children on the plane, their placement in regards to me and whether or not Im allowed to knock them out each and everytime they start yelling and screaming.

IKR? I was trying to read Harry Potter on a plane once while some obnoxious, spoiled kid kept screaming that he wanted his iPad even though you can't use electronics during takeoff.  -_-

I hate 95% of parents. Most of them believe that the world is created to fit around their children and anybody who dares to complain about their kid is something akin to pureevil. Im so sick and tired of this attitude. ITs their job to make sure that their kids aren't annoying the hell out of everybody.

a plane just makes it ten times worse.

I was in Greece on holiday last year, and there was a return flight that landed back in denmark at 02.30 am. There was probably 30-40 kids on board...

Why the fuck would you book a flight that returns at that time when you have 2-3 small children.

Its impossible for a person without kids to have any holiday what so ever. I almost always travel way outside of seasons to avoid this but its getting more diffecult since those parents have just begun to ignore normal vacation days and take their hellspawn out of school instead.

I've noticed that too. Even though I've never travelled aboard, some pupils / students just leave on a regular schoolweek for a holiday to somewhere not too far away, like Sweden, not giving a sh*t about actual holiday seasons or anything.

Ever tried low-budget travelling, backpacker style? Try to stay away from popular (and even not-so popular) tourist attractions: they're expensive, have a lot of other tourists, and on tourist attractions you merely just "scratch the surface". Getting into not-so popular places gets cheaper and there's much less other travellers / much less annoying tourists. If you've seen a TV travelling show Madventures (btw it's not one of those boring travelling shows you see everywhere. Though only the 3rd season is in English, the rest are Finnish with subtitles), you know what I'm talking about.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

I generally avoid the popular tourist destinations but I was going with my mom and my two sisters so I had to adapt.

When I get to a destination, I have do problem. I just avoid people and I always do tons of research before going so I know exactly what I can go see. Having a interest for culture, nature and architecture makes almost everywhere amazing to visit.

Sometimes I just wish that parents would be more considerate.
