Hello those of you smarter than me (most of you).

I currently own 2 Asus monitors i plan on using in my desk setup and one TV that sits on my dresser at the foot of my bed. what i plan to do is plug all three displays into my PC and in the settings deactivate the TV when I'm at my desk then when i want to play some games in bed deactivate the two desk monitors and reactivate the TV. Long explanation aside my question is does having a third display (the TV) plugged in while I'm at my desk affect the graphical preference? Obviously if i had all three monitors running while i game it would be more demanding but if the monitor isn't running and is deactivated in settings it shouldn't make any difference correct?

Thanks,

Jake :)

We all got left behind.

no, it would not. It only pushes out to whats turned on. Of course if you have multiple screens plugged in and on but the game is only running on one, the reduced performance from the other two displays is very small, trivial really.

You're Welcome,

Another guy named Jake.

You can probably use display-fusion and leave all monitors on (connected) in desktop expansion mode and drag/drop a game onto the third monitor and switch to a controller or something. It would be seamless and you wouldn't have to change any settings to go between the 2 stations. And for an added bonus, you can probably have an animated wallpaper or dream-scene on the tv when you're not using it. If you don't care about changing the settings when you want to switch, that's fine too.
