Best gpu for triple monitor setup

Go to solution Solved by SymphonyX7,

could someone recommed a gpu for a triple monitor setup

the extras monitors will mainly be for work but will eventually try out triple monitor gaiming

note im not overclocking it (have second pc for overclocking) and i don't want crossfire or sli setups, i don't have enough slots free

I assume it'll be a triple 1080p monitor setup. An R9 290, R9 290X or GTX 780 Ti would offer the best value. You may ask why I excluded the GTX 780 (non-Ti), it's because the R9 290 is faster at that resolution.

These video cards should give you very good framerates on a mix of high and ultra settings.

1080p 24 inch monitors

budget - any, its a upgrade not new build but don't want unnecessary power usage

heard the r9 290 run at high temps

They run a bit on the hotter side since the board partners took care of the Hawaii chips but they are okay by now.

If you aren't really limited by a budget too tight get a GTX Titan Black, that'll do. This card is fast, quiet and not super power hungry or the GTX 780 Ti but for triple monitors the Titan might be the better option because of its large 6GB VRAM buffer.

ASUS Direct CU 2 GTX 780ti runs very cool and i think you can find models that come with 6 gigs of GDDR ram.

I run a 3x monitor setup off a Radeon 6870. You could likely pick one up for cheap on E bay after that Mining craze crashed.

Was also looking forward to 6 GB GTX 780 Tis ever since EVGA said they'd eventually release one. Still no 6 GB GTX 780 Tis though, only 6 GB GTX 780s. Still, the 3 GB GTX 780 Ti should do fine at 5760x1080. It's not like he'll go ballistic on the graphics settings. 3 GB is cutting it a bit close, but it's still more than enough. However, at the rate the new games are eating VRAM, it may not last more than a year at that resolution before you're required to lower settings that eat VRAM.

You won't see the high end GK110-425-B1 with 6GB VRAM on a 780Ti... it would make the Titan Black pointless. nVidia will not allow that. Look how long it took that Asus was allowed by nVidia to strap 6GB on a regular 780...

Yeah symphony I myself am running a Asus directly 2 gtx 780 not to but it has a EK waterblock on it that runs 3 23in monitors and it's overcooked to 1300kHz I just figured he would want more frame buffer.
