just watched this video, and wondering is it safe to use a ssd on a dongle like Linus did?

 

some people said it might cause damage to the ssd when it lose power when disconnecting from the usb port.

 

I know Linus had reviews of angelbirds but they are just too expensive compared to Linus' solution in this video.

I had my SSD and HDD for a week in a dongle without any problems.

You can do it, but plugging it into a PC once in a while and running TRIM will keep its speed
