ssd on a dongle?

just watched this video, and wondering is it safe to use a ssd on a dongle like Linus did?

 

some people said it might cause damage to the ssd when it lose power when disconnecting from the usb port.

 

I know Linus had reviews of angelbirds but they are just too expensive compared to Linus' solution in this video.

I had my SSD and HDD for a week in a dongle without any problems.

I don't see the problem with it, flash drives are the same only lower quality soo yeah I think that you can do it.

did you see the price for that usb Linus reviewed? I could intel 256 cheaper than that usb on ncix..

isnt ssd shock resistance? and i wont put it anywhere near water, so there could not be a problem.

I just meant it as a general statement. But yeah they should be shock resistant, just take care of it like you would anything else is all I'm saying

You can do it, but plugging it into a PC once in a while and running TRIM will keep its speed

The spec for standard SATA is 50.

But it should still last you for thousand of connections...
