Building a computer as I make this thread, thermal paste problem

So I have an intelstock fan, I can just install it now.

but I have another Heatskink fan that has double the heatsink size.

Only that heatsink has no thermalpaste (well theres the old one on and a decent amount on the sides).

 

Options considered:

 

1. Put intel stock fan.

2. Buy Thermal Paste at shady local dealer.

3. Use tooth paste ( Iheard it was real, dont troll me)

4. Put bigger heatsink without added thermal paste (there's some left form about 1.8 tears (mostly from the sides)

For a Pentium G2130.

 

Awaiting your answers knowledge and recommendations.

 

This isn't a gaming computer. altough totally capable it wont be used for that, just email and basic stuff.

Just go out and buy the tube of thermal paste, use the stock for now - make sure that PC is actually working.

Get some thermal compund, Arctic Silver makes great stuff, it's not expensive.

Use intel stock fan and heatsink.

You can order some off the interwebs. I recommend Noctua's

get one from the shady store, like linus said, between the best & the worst thermal paste it's only a couple of degrees 3-6 max, so don't bother about it too much.

Toothpaste is a big no. It never worked for me when I had an Athlon.

 

As for the situation, use the stock cooler for a while and order some good thermal paste elsewhere.

I don't know, it just seems to be a more convenient option. If you can though, go get some paste from the shady retailer

meh! get the theremal paste, i do know that it works, unless you want you cpu to smell a bit minty or like you're in a forest full of eucalyptus or something..

I decided to Use intel stock fan, and keep the other one as a future upgrade for my main

 

Update: It failed Will create troubleshooting thread or edit this one if its moved.

 

The mobo boots normally, all the fans spin, but thats it!

(i took ram off(not while running), and it didnt give a shit)

theres no screen input, no beep.

 

Tried hdmi and DVI->VGA input.

 

Both by mobo and Hd6670.

 

I couldnt find me dual link DVI by my suprise...

 

I couldnt use intel stock fan(incompatible with mobo) so I used the old one, I pushed the old thermal paste towards the middle.

 

I could tkae out my main system and toruble shoot parts individually, but I'm done for now.

I could also connect an audio device, maybe it will beep lol.
