Hey guys,

I'm new so forgive me for not posting this in the proper way or what not.

I already own a system, which I use for everyday stuff and gaming. System spec are as follows:

CPU - AMD A-10 5800K (Stock cooler)

MOBO - Asus A55M-E

RAM - 2 x 4GB Kingston 1866mHz

HDD - 2TB Seagate 7200RPM

PSU - Corsair CX-M 750W

Case - Generic Cooler Master case

Fans - 2 x Cooler Master Sickle Flow, 1 x Noctua NF-F12

MONITOR - BENQ RL2455HM

I don't do "harcore 1080p ultra" gaming, but I do like to have high FPS so I use basically the lowest settings in all the games that I play. I play low demanding games like TF2, Garry's mod, indie games and occasionally BF3(on super low settings). I run my games in windowed version only because I found it easier to tab out. This system may look odd, that's because I had a $500 budget for the PC, then bought the monitor afterwards and now I'm looking to upgrade the GPU performance

That's enough background info. So I was planning on buying a video card to better my gaming experience, to make use of my new (amazing) monitor and to ease the load on my APU, which was handling GPU and CPU work. I know that pairing an APU with a discrete card is bad, but at the time of buying the APU I idn't have the money to buy a CPU+video card. Now that I have some money, I'd like to buy a video card and I thought I'd come here to get some suggestions. I also understand that the APU may bottleneck many of the cards out there, I just want to know the best option.

I really don't want to change my APU to a CPU like the FX-6300 or what not because that means I need to get a new motherboard as well and I just don't have the money for that.

-Thanks

I would get an r9 270x or something around that range, if you want to keep the budget low

Thanks for the fast reply! Would there be a Nvidia equivalent of an r9 270x?

gtx760

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

You can crossfire the integrated gpu with a R7 260x. You cannot crossfire it with r9 cards.

I think this is a cheap way of improving graphics, without making the apu graphics being worthless...

Example

Actually not possible. Link

Only the 7xxx APUs can use Dual-Graphics with the R7 cards.

PC: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 || Noctua NH-U12S SE2 || 32GB DDR5 6000 CL32  ||
|| Powercolor RX 9070 Reaper || Asus B650E-I
  || WD 850X 2TB ||  Corsair SF600 || Intertech IM 1 |||
Peripherals: Sennheiser PC  360 G4ME || AOC CQ27G2U || Viewsonic PX701HD || Keychron V1 || Logitech G303 Shroud Edition||| Laptop: XPS 13 2in1 7390 || Steam Deck 256 GB (64GB Version) ||| Cameras: Fujifilm XH-1 || Fujifilm X100T

I'm using the APU right below yours, the 5700, I have a GTX 660 EVGA FTW edition. I can play bf4 on ultra but I don't because it's a bit laggy online.

Most other games I can easily run on ultra (with things like skyrim being the exception)

I'm upgrading my mobo and cpu to an intel I5 quad core of some sort, probably not overclockable. I would recommend the same if you can wait and add a decent GPU. From my research on these FM2 APU's is that they're pretty much worthless if you want great performance, especially with games like Star Citizen on the horizon (hadn't thought about that game specifically until just now.....definitely upgrading now) Although yours appears to be more powerful than mine so I could be wrong completely

Edit: If you just want a decent card and dont care about the cpu, I'd go with a 760 (what I'd buy now if I had the money)
