1832vin

i acctually have a laptop, and not a gaming laptop, just a normal one with a i5 with 7730m GPU, should i install "the worse mod"?

it might look better, but i don't want to break my laptop, i'm currently playing it through with minimum settings.

I doubt if it would 'break' your laptop. However, you can install the mod, and check it out. If it runs too poorly just remove the mod.

Settings dont break your laptop. Usage may. Which has nothing to do with settings, unless you put a usage limiter such as Vsync.

Tempertures do.

from what i hear the mod makes the game perform better, unless something has changed

First, this is not exactly a mod; it's more like a settings tweak. A mod adds or modifies game materials. A settings tweak is just that, it changes the settings of the game, mainly the settings unaccessible to the "ordinary" players.

Second, the negative impact of performance from the "mod" is almost nothing, as reported by our friend TB. This is what most of us find baffling; why is Ubisoft actively disabling these settings when it does not actually hurt the performance? The files for the settings are labelled as 'E3', so that is a red flag right there.

Install it. You will get better performance. Also I've found the biggest hits to the framerate are the level of detail and anti aliasing. The game's framerate jumps around like crazy anyway, on my R9 290 I get between 33-80 fps... It seems to be whenever you're looking at a light source or a lot of things in the street.
