a GTX750 may help but not much

save up bit by bit

it will pay off when you have enough to get a whole rig

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Save up and buy in one go, you can ask for a better deal this way. Waiting for sales or buying piece by piece can backfire.

Would help to know what you want out of the PC that way we could recommend what to look for :)

CPU: I74770K @ 4.2, MOBO: ASUS Z87 EXPERT, RAM: CORSAIR VENGANCE PRO 16G @ 1886, GPU: EVGA DUAL FTW GTX 780, CASE: NZXT H440 WHITE, STORAGE: 840 EVO 120GB (OS), 1TB SAMSUNG 7200 RPM (MASS), PSU: CORSAIR RM750, DISPLAY: DUAL LG/ACER 1080p LED, COOLING: H100i, STOCK CASE FANS, ACCESS: RAZER DEATH ADDER + GOLIATH PAD, WHITE SLEEVED CABLES, UV LEDS.

As @dragoon20005 says, save a little cash before you start purchasing a new one. If you want to build a gaming PC I would say to get $450 and start like this:

  1. With the initial budget get a motherboard, CPU and CPU cooler. If your RAM is DDR3 you can use it, else you will need to buy RAM (at least 4Gb). Then reuse the PSU, Case and Video Card of your current PC.
  2. With next months budget you can start purchasing the rest (in any orther)
    1. New PSU
    2. New Video Card
    3. More RAM
    4. A new case (if you want)

Also I would recomend to do an initial build despite not having the budget to see how the final PC will look like and have an idea on how much you need to save.
