i think voltage drops idk when this happens in game my fps drops to 20(bf4)

cpu volvate: 1.4v

turbo: disabled

cool'n'quiet: disabled

all other voltages auto

mobo: m4a87td/usb3

psu: thermaltake 600w

EDIT: oh i see my cpu multiplier drops to 4 but WHY? i set it at 14 at bios

It might be because there's not as much load on it. Doesn't affect my 3570k but it might be a feature on some chips.

Thermal throttling?

http://products.amd.com/en-ca/DesktopCPUDetail.aspx?id=641

idk shouldnt it turn itself down when it reaches max temp? Speccy shows 55 but it might be higher.

What are your load temps?

doesnt ANYBODY looking at the screenshots i post.

Prime 95 is running and my cpu is at %100 load and you are saying "not much load on it" also i disabled cool'n'quiest so it should always work at 3.5ghz

idle 35~

under load 55~

also you can see temps at screenshots -.-

In your first screenshot your CPU is clearly at 28% utilisation.

this is the problem. also as you can see its working at 1ghz, multiplier x4 and voltage is 1.3v

Like I said in my first post, the clocks may have dropped dynamically because it doesn't need to run at 3.5GHz when you're only working it at 28% load.

But he is clearly running Prime95 so it shouldn't drop down. OP i suspect your motherboard is overheating and is throttling the CPU to protect itself. There are is no heatsink on the VRM area, this will cause them to run hot and the fact you are overclocking will cause them to get really hot. Either buy a new motherboard or stop overclocking.

Hm, I presumed that the top prime window being blank meant that prime wasn't actively running, my bad.

As a side note, don't use speccy for temperatures OP, use realtemp/gpuz or something else, speccy isn't very accurate.

Core Temp works good for me. Have that open and run Prime95 and CPUz.

But I do think the board is getting too hot

intel burn test results http://i.imgur.com/EEd5guD.png it didnt drop this time. maybe p95 problem?(idk)

i will try realtemp

edit: lol realtemp doesnt supports amd cpus :(

Use a proper temp monitoring software such as HWM ore coretemp, and always use at least two different programs to verify your temps. I'm pretty sure the ones in your screenshot are not exactly correct.

If you have cool n quiet "allways disabled"

And also disabled the Turbo Core.

Then it should not fall back, even wenn its idleing.

But most likely, if you disabled all powersaving feutures, and still falls back that far, then your mobo is probably overheating throttleing.

your mobo: only 4+1 powerphase, no heat spreader on the mosfets, vrm´s and chokes to dispace the heat from it, so yeah it seems obvious to me.

If you look at the screenshot properly, he turned the stresstest off so the cpu went down to 20% and obviously would downclock at that point because there's no need to have the cpu at full clock at such a load.

@Op every screenshot you posted here, you had the stresstest turned off. Is it downclocking during a stresstest or not?

It's normal that your cpu downclocks when it's NOT under load. Those are just power saving features. http://i.imgur.com/izKiUEq.png

I would use hardware monitor to check the motherboard temps, if you motherboard has the sensors for that.

start priming and take a screenshot of the max temps of everything

I tried HWM mobo tempature is same but cpu is around 60C. which is bad because according to AMD my cpu's max temp is 62C. I tried to lower voltage from 1.4v to 1.35v but it  closed itself. I think i wont oc.

I didnt stop p95 i just took a screenshot when it downlocked itself to 1ghz. and like 10 seconds later, cpu returned to 3.5GHZ with %100 load, which mean p95 is running.

it SHOULDNT drop when i disable cool'n'quiet and stuff. and it DOESNT when i dont OC. it always works at 2.8GHZ no problem(stock). if i enable cool'n'quiet cpu drops to 800MHZ when idle/no load.

Intel burn test is stopped because it finished with no errors.

Already did that and didnt post ss because i went to sleep yesterday. I cant run p95 because cpu drops to 1GHZ when it drops, heat also drops. my cpu is around 60C when oc'ed to 3.5GHZ. at idle like 40C. i think i will re-paste my cpu and clean some stuff and try again.

Thanks everyone for helping and if anyone have suggestions pls do tell
