am i bottlenecking?

Go to solution Solved by SlaughterSmurf,

350 max

For AMD R9 280x (If you can stretch get a 290, but I know that isn't fee sable for most people) For Nvidia get a 770.

It looks like someone wanted to make a balls out AMD build...

...then stuffed a 650 in there last minute.

Get something like a 280/X

-snip-

The GPU may be bottlenecking the CPU a little bit, but not by much.

$50 upgrade- CM Hyper 212 Evo

$100 upgrade- Kingston SSDNow V300

Nah. You're fine. New GPU first. A 650 is weak for that setup.

AMD fx 9590

NVIDIA Ge-force GTX 650

Western Digital WD Black

Asus Saber-tooth 990FX R2.0

CORSAIR Vengeance 2x8

CORSAIR RM850

Corsair Obsidian 750D

Logitech g510 keyboard

Logitech g500 mouse

and best upgrade  50$ 100$ 200$

yeah that is bottle necking your cpu, in games, not like day to day stuff. but yeah for that FX cpu, get a nice R9 280x or a GTX 770

for me a GTX 650Ti Boost is perfect for my build

Uhhh 650 ti bottlenecking 9590 by a LITTLE BIT?! You do realize the 9590 is a ridiculously overclocked 8350 right?

I realize, but I don't think it's that bad of a bottleneck.

The Hyper 212 Evo can't handle that CPU. You're going to need a better cooler than that.

Really? It's gotta be better than their boxed-in solution.

Let me put it this way, if a 780 ti isn't bottlenecked by a 9590, then a 650 ti sure as hell is holding back the 9590.

How does that work on a hardware level?

It doesn't come with a stock cooler.

It handles it. Not the best, but within acceptable temps I believe.

I've read of people coming within the thermal limits of the CPU using that cooler, which is why I would recommend something better.

Wow. AMD really pulled out the stops on this one. Like, literally ALL the stops. I bet it doesn't even throttle anymore, for "maximum performance." :P

Their in box solution doesn't let it perform well, it thermal throttles like a boss. you at LEAST need a mid range AIO Water Cooling solution or a high end air cooling solution.

That's a real shame AMD. Come on, at least make your chip run cool enough not to throttle itself under the default cooler!
