Not sure if you can even get these in USA but in 200'something range you can buy
Edifier R2800 2x70watts RMS 3way active speakers that will blow away anything in their pricerange,
sound quality is indeed nice especially via opt/coax in

How does one grade something as "audiophile grade"?

Just curious, as a sufferer of tinnitus, I probably couldn't tell the difference (which FUCKING SUCKS) lol

I just use my sony home sound system from like 10 years ago, and its still loud as shit.

470 watts, two 8 inch woofers, and 14 "driver units" whatever the hell that is lol. All I really know is that if I turn it up to max, the whole house shakes.

Edit: As much as I hate sony's gaming division I'll give them this, they make a hell of a sound system, because It still sounds the same (to me anyways) as the day I got it (christmas of like 03 or 04)

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

Depends if you're being a snob or not - for some people, it's the amount of money you spend, for others it's getting maximum sound quality for the price.

For example, Razer makes a $300 headphone. It is not audiophile grade. Despite the price tag, it sounds the same as all the other Razer headphones.

Take my advice NEVER post in the audio forum looking for opinions. Order something that sounds good to you, fits your needs, and has decent reviews. Audio quality in the mid to upper tier is based on opinion and preference. and almost always turns into an argument between fanboys. Hope you enjoy your new purchase. :)

What a load of horseshit. We all know more expensive is better.

How do the Alesis M1 520 compare to a5's?

A quick search in the reviews, they're pretty good for the price - until they stop working.
