if you don't need to OC

I don't see the need for a Z87 board use a H87 board

8GB of RAM is really good enough

edit change out the PSU

LC are rated by Jonnyguru as trash

The PSU will turn this thing into a bomb. Look at some PSUs from Corsair (great), CoolerMaster (good), XFX (great-ish), Seasonic (best) or EVGA (good).

Since you aren't gonna OC with that CPU get a H87 or H97.

If you aren't going to render get 8GB of RAM.

What is your location and budget?

Is that enough?

yes 500 watts is enough with your system

if you want to OC the GPU

then get the CX600 Watts version

My stepdad said this would be good for my build: Corsair 650W, VS650M, ATX

and i chose this for my new motherboard: MSI H87-G43 Gaming, LGA1150, Intel H87, DDR3, ATX.

What do you think?

VS series is not great; I'd get a Seasonic 520W S12II-520 instead.

I'd change the PSU to the Seasonic 550W G-550 modular because at least in the store I'm looking in it's cheaper than the CS650M and better.

Edit: what store will you be buying from?

Yes, Jimms.

You don't need 650W, a good quality 450W PSU would even be enough.
