Nexus 7 2012 Slowdown

Anyone noticed extreme slowdown with their nexus 7 1st gen? I have but after factory resetting a few times and rooting it seems to be faster....I'm confused

I've noticed some lag and stuttering on my Nexus 7 (2012) after one of the recent Android updates. I've been impressed with the N7 ever since I got it - the lag is noticeable but not unbearable, but that's just my experience.

cleaning cache periodically will help with making the device feel faster. There are 2 factors in your case

1. the CPU in that chip is kind of outdated, if you have Performance Control or any CPU app, you can raise the minimum CPU spec to be higher.
You can also try getting a custom rom such as ElementalX to try to get better performance.

2. The amount of storage used typically makes a device feel slower. If you want to really speed up your device in this aspect, you can try to use ART on a stock nexus ROM.
