Recently got my i5 4690k, It's overclocked to 4.5GHz on a Gigabyte Z97x-UD3H-BK. The maximum temperatures after 1 hour with IBT (logged on RealTemp) was 85c with FurMark running, if I switch over to Prime95 26.6 or 28.5 my maximum temperatures are 60 - 61c after 30 minutes which is much lower than I am used to coming from an FX6300 at 4.5GHz.

Cooler: Dark Rock 3 with 1 Fan (Pushing through tower to Exhaust Case Fan) [Not Pro Edition]

CPU Multiplier: 45x

Cache Ratio: 35x (Upped this to 45, 1hr, 30m stable on both P95 26.6 and  IBT with FurMark running)
Bios Vcore: 1.15v
Windows Vcore: 1.149
Load Line Calibration: Extreme
RAM: 8GB @ Default 1600MHz, 10-10-10-30

Just submitted mine. Quick question, I only did 1 hour stress test, If I were to do a 6+ hour test or play around with my settings more, how would I resubmit?

If you change frequencies and voltages etc, you could just submit another entry! If you just want me to update your stress test photo i could edit it and change your color rating :)

max air benchmarks (not stable)

Part with max OC benchmarks.
This CPU is nothing special. I mean, sample of average chips in 60-70% of users (because most users will be not showing how bad CPU is in OC :-) )

We know, max stable settings is 4300 MHz (If you read last chapter). So I hoped for 4400 MHz. And this is exactly the limit of the CPU with my cooling.

Cinebench R11.5, with higher cache I got freeze at this CPU clock.

705. I had HyperThreading turned off when I got to 5ghz. If you look at the document on the first page of this thread you can find all the details. I need to delid and try again and see if I can't stabilize this clock. I may also add that this clock was on air and I should consider moving to liquid cooling to possibly go further.

I am running an Intel Core i7 4790k at 4.8 GHz with 1.25V, and these are the results I got 1 hour and 45 minutes in using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility on a 2 hour stress test with CPU-Z and Real Temp:

In the future it would be nice to see all text messages / non submitted posts be removed for a nice looking thread to look at.  Just saying.  Please remove this post btw when you get around to doing what I said.

  • 2 weeks later...

The database is closing in on 300 submissions! Overclocked my 4690K to 4.8 Ghz and ran a relatively quick stress test so I added it to the database. Here are some screenshots on the results of my CPU.
