If I were to buy something from NCIX, can I rely on it getting to me fine? What are your experiences with their machines? I'm looking into their prebuilt computers (I know, blasphemy). Or just the $50 they charge to build a system.

I'm in the US if that would change my experience with them at all.

Wahat? Build it like a man and put that 50 bucks towards a better GPU (or HDD, CPU, etc)!!

I'm getting a ModMat for the build and that's $60 so getting it built would save $10.

You don't need a ModMat to build a PC.

Why would you get a modmat though? If you constantly touch your case it will ground you so static shouldn't be an issue....

It's so I have a nice station to work at and not have to worry about grounding myself.

Maybe I don't need a ModMat, maybe I want one.

If you're considering buying a pre-built, it seems like you wouldn't use the Modmat again... So spending $60 on a mat to build a pc on one time seems ridiculous to me.

If I did buy the parts and build it myself it would probably be reused in my future ones after that.

NCIX is pretty good on a whole.  Though the time they take with orders varies a lot, their customer service is quite good as well.  I purchased some stuff from them in Jan and had a problem which they helped me isolate to my Keyboards usb cable, so I contacted my Keyboard manufacturer for a replacement cable.

edit: on another note my experience with them is all with the Canadian site.

Mmmk. My solution is to get the Modmat, spending an extra 10 bucks and a few hours, and learning more about computers rather than buying a pre-built.

To me there is no point of cherry picking what parts are in my pc, then turning around and letting someone else build it.

For fucks sake want someone to cook your microwave dinner for you too?

My point is you'll be fine, it's just plugin stuff together. Don't sweat it. It's 15 minutes max. If you can pick parts, you can build a pc. Unless you have no hands. Then why did you buy a pc anyway?
