How do I unlink my Facebook and Spotify?

terrytek

Recently, I got Spotify on every tech device in my house, only 3. However, 2 are synced, my laptop and my tablet. My computer couldn't. The reason? It's logged in with my Facebook, not my Spotify account. I want to disconnect my Facebook so I can sync with my other 2 devices. My computer is the only device of mine that is logged in using Facebook.  I looked on the internet, and it said to click disconnect Facebook from Spotify in Preferences in Spotify Player, but when I looked in preferences, there was nothing related to Facebook other than an option to share my listening activity. There's no Disconnect from Facebook option. Is that option like gone or what? If not, what do I do? I want to listen to the same tracks as my other tech.

On another note: If I disconnect my Facebook account from my computer, does it save my lists? If so, what if I log in with my Spotify account? Will there be duplicate songs, or will they be replaced if they are found?

You can unlink the social sharing element of Spotify from FB, though:  Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect from Facebook.

The Social Network option is at the bottom, right above the "Open Spotify automatically.." section.

Are you sure it's because it's linked to Facebook? You should be able to sync your account to every mobile device that you have.

Only thing I can think of is you're not logging in with Facebook. I've got my one Spotify account on four devices (Shield, two phones and my desktop) and everything is synced.

You could post on Spotify's community forum - they usually have employees and people who know next to everything about Spotify constantly browsing.

No he probably posted how stupid his parents were while being friends with his parents (or something like that). But if its what you said that'd be more interesting.

I had to make a whole new Spotify account with my email, then I just fucked the password up to the one that was linked to Facebook so it wouldn't matter if someone got into it.

Well, I disconnected my Facebook account. On the wrong computer. I did it on my laptop. Now I am on my PC. I restarted Spotify, but now it froze at the logon screen.

If you were able to disconnect it, you should be able to log in with the email address associated with the Facebook account instead of clicking the "Log In With Facebook" button.

Yeah, they're the same for both, so it really doesn't matter. But, it's too late. I already uninstalled Spotify because I thought it will never work again.

i had a similar issue, called their support(which is actually really good), basically i ended up having 2 seperate accounts, one linked to facebook, one not. it was weird.  if disconnecting doesnt work, just call them and have them fix it.
