Need some help looking for a monitor

amas

Hi, I'm currently looking for a monitor.

  • 27"-30"
  • TN, IPS, doesn't matter
  • 1440-1600 resolution
  • DVI/HDMI
  • PiP (picture in picture)
  • Not too bad of a latency
  • Prefer not glossy
  • Somewhat sturdy frame
  • Prefer a known brand
  • Anything under $2k

Am I asking for too much?

That's a 1080p monitor...

This is a good 1440p:

For better color accuracy and DisplayPort daisy chaining capability:

Thanks for this. I'll be sure to look into that U2713H. Didn't know there was such a thing as PbP. :o

If I am not mistaken, it support also Side-by-side picture-in-pictures.

Looks like this (old pictures, but you get the idea);

What I like about Picture-in-PIcture, is that when you positioned it on the top right corner of the screen. the spacing on top, matches the spacing of the title bar in Windows. So It doesn't block you from reading the tittle bar if you have a window there, nor block your view of the close/minimize/restore/maximize buttons.

Notice, how the virtually no back light bleeding of an IPS panel, makes it that the black border at the top and bottom, is pitch black. This make ultra wide movies and side by side picture-in-picture, a joy to use.

My only complaint about side-by-side picture-in-picture, is that the resolution is the same. So, while it doesn't screw up your work area, it makes text hard to read. So it's only good if you play a game or movie and monitor something else on the side... like a Windows install, or waiting for a chat conversation or something.

It is so hard to actually find pictures from reviews and such of what the PiP/PbP actually looks like. Thanks for them.
