This is my planned build for gaming and school work.

 

Case: Cooler Master N400

CPU: Intel i5-4690

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA H87-D3H

Ram: Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz ( 4GB X 2 )

GPU: Msi Gtx 760 TF 2G

HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB

PSU: Corsair CX500M

Disk Drive: Samsung SH224BB

 

Any Changes to be made?

looks pretty balanced to me, some people would prefer and amd or k series just because you can overclock but you are not rendering or anything so no point.

school works a whooooole rang of things from watching videos to making videos

Well then it should be able to do all of that, shouldn't it?

Just because he is doing some video editing for school work doesn't mean he needs a 4790k...

Well school work will always be less demanding than gaming, so he could have just said gaming and it would be the same thing...

An i5 will be enough for gaming, or a 8320/50 if on a budget. This will handle any schoolwork you throw at it :P
