Use for a second non-SLI Nvidia GPU?

Go to solution Solved by Lord Pantaloons,

1. Extra Displays

2. Folding

3. Peen(if installed in PC)

4. Lulz

5. Keep as backup (it's always best to have a spare card just in case, though it is better if that card is PCIe powered and doesn't require external power)

6. Keep it on your desk as ornamentation

7. Coaster

8. Huge ass keychain

9. Paperweight

10. Huge rear view mirror decoration for your car

11. Massive earring.

I have a GTX 660ti as my main card, and a spare 650ti Boost. What could be some uses for it in this system besides a separate physx processer?

You can use it for physx, go the the nvidia driver and set the 650ti boost as physx processor. It only makes a difference in games that USE physx of course. Alternatively I think you can use it to encode gameplay footage on the fly, but I don't know how.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

If you do video editing you can make one GPU render one project and the other do another

Nope not possible.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. Ohh okay. Too bad. Well you could always sell it and save money for a future upgrade

Use it as a dedicated Physx processor.

I used a 560TI for a while with my 780 and I saw at least 5-8 frames more in every Physx game. Now I understand 5-8 frames Isn't much, but that's just becasue my 780 wasn't choking on the Physx part mainly due to the sheer amount of Cuda cores. With a configuration like yours though, you could really benefit in games like Hawken, Warframe, and the Batman series.

I'm not an audiophile, I'm just really picky about my music... and my headphones... and my speakers... and my microphone. Other than that, I'm totally not an audiophile.

That's what I was thinking, but the only game I ever played with Physx was Planetside 2, but they disabled it due to performance problems.

I don't know if it would be worth straight up selling, but I might include it in a future build and/or sell it when I move to a place with more interest. (Unless you want to buy a gaming computer in Maine :P)

I hate it because it's not good enough for the games I want to play, and too good for a build for my parents.
