Which is better, sibera v2 frost or sibera v2 usb. usb has a 7.1 surround sound. but is 7.1 sound essential for games like cs go? pls help me thanks

It's still regularly updated and such. Still perfectly entertaining lol. Same case as CoD; Never changes, always new.

7.1 is not essential for anything. It is, however, cool. I'm also pretty sure that the Frost is just a COLOR of the headset, and that it's still USB...? So it comes down to color preference.

but it says on the steelseries website that the frost blue doesnt have 7.1 sound. but the v2 USB does. but the frost looks so damn cool.

You can download Razer surround software to turn any headphones "7.1". Many games also have built-in headphone surround mode, so no additional software or hardware is required.

The USB sound card is quite useless unless your current sound card is broken.

I wouldn't call it useless. Plugged my V2's into my ASUS Z87-A and they definitely sound better through the USB soundcard than onboard. Had a buddy do the same on his MSI gaming lappy and he reported the same thing.

No, the Frost has its own source, so it will only use its own DAC and amp.

Now that I think about it, doesn't the Frost Blue require USB for the useless led lighting? Anyway, they are both Siberias so they sound exactly the same, just different colors.

As they are both stearo, i5 doesn't matter or do anything. As any headphone is a headphone, it dpoesnt matter
