So for a while I have been dealing with the slow performance of a six year old HP desktop which can barely do anything. I recently started to get into Adobe Creative Cloud programs, which this computer simply cannot handle. It takes 45 seconds just to open up Photoshop, and don't even try to open Premiere. I also wanted to build a machine that could do some serious gaming at the same time. I am pretty happy with the value of the computer for all that I'm getting. As you can tell, one big thing that I wanted was some really nice peripherals (cough cough RGB).

Here's the link to the parts:

Lemme know what you guys think!

great build! but i would swap the GPU for a radeon R9 280X which performs roughly the same perhaps even a little better than a 770 but offers 3GB of VRAM and is cheaper...if you could step it up to the R9 290 4GB card that would be awesome...

I would, but from my understanding, Nvidia works much better for OS X compared to AMD. Plus I may want to buy a shield in the future.

Hackintosh? if you plan to do so you have to check every single component very carefully, since driver for them might not available for hackintosh~

Why would you use one though?

Z97 is fairly new and doesn't have great OS X support yet, but that should change fairly soon once Apple releases a mac that actually uses the chipset. As for why I'm going hackintosh, I just really like OS X and the way it's designed. Of course for gaming I still need windows but for productivity I much prefer OS X.

Sam. I agree with Nanosuits idea, but get a 4GB 770, there's plenty on the market Linus even reviewed a couple

well, he also reviewed the 770 GPU in this video, video in wich the 770 perform about the same as the HD7970 (wich is BTW a lower clock speed R9 280X)

The thing is that for the price of a GTX 770 4GB, one can get an R9 290 4GB wich is in another LEAGUE literraly...and for the price of the 280X? well...you are looking at a GTX 760...

Yeah but for hackintosh... it's easier to use nvidia and like he said he might get a shield and stuff xD so it's a fine compromise

I do a little bit of everything: photo/video editing, photoshop, web design, ect. Hopefully this new machine will help me to open my horizons.

There is a slight chance, but from everything I've heard, SLI isn't too worth it and its better to sell of the card and buy a move powerful one instead of just buying another.

Why should I go Xeon instead? I wanted to do some over clocking eventually. The 4gb 770 would be nice. I already bought the H440 and love it.

The extra threads would be convenient for what you're doing. It's also cheaper than going with the 4670k, a zX7 board, and an aftermarket cooler.

How will that impact gaming performance? I also kinda like the idea of a Z97 board and all the features they have.

An overclocked i5 will generally be better but there isn't that much of a difference for the majority of games anyway.

It's pretty difficult fitting 16GB ram and an oc'ed i5 into your budget though--especially with the case already purchased.
