Which do you prefer?

I know everybody has different tastes, and I would like to know what they are and why, when it comes to if the screen is glossy or not. Yes, I don't have anything better to do.

 

I prefer matte screens over everything else. Sure, the colors might not be as good, but the seem to streak a lot less when you clean them and since I'm right next to a window, the glare is a LOT more bearable. I used a glossy screen in similar conditions (instead of right next to the window, I was right across from it) so I think I can argue my point pretty well.

I prefer matte, I really hate the reflection on glossy screens.

i'd rather be able to play when its very bright but with worst color reproduction then not be able to game at all.

Glossy screens are the worst. Any form of light on them and you cannot see anything. Matte all the way.

Depends, if the backlight is bright enough than glossy screens arent that bad ( like the apple retina displays ) , but still i would prefer matte screens for gaming.

I prefer glossy, but its just so impractical that I try and go matte whenever possible

Matte, spent a lot extra for my laptop to get a matte 1080p screen!

Matte for sure. Glossy screens have far too much glare, plus they show grease and dirt faster (not that I've ever gotten one dirty, but still)

I'm right next to a window, so gloss screens are out of the question for me.

I prefer matte since they're easier to clean and I can touch the display without leaving my fingerprints everywhere for the NSA.

I swapped my laptop display from glossy to matte even though the matte screen had some weird purple streaking issues!

I just realized that the MacBook pros screens are glossy but you don't really notice a glare.

I prefer glossy but I realise that their not very practical. For the most part I seem to

go matte for the fact that the reflections can give one a headache, sore eyes or both.

I think they would be considered semi-glossy (like the newer iMacs)

because they have some kind of coating on them that reduces the glare.
