I went to record the boot animation of an Android custom ROM for _ASSASSIN_, and the first time I went to record it, well, this happened.

 

The gif is about 9 megs, so...

Because my phone borks out on me a lot, so this isn't the first time. Got upset...again.

Ahh, did you clear davik cache, and do a full wipe before installing?

 

Also maybe try partitioning your NAND to a bigger size. Every so often a bad block appears on internal NAND. There was a tool over at XDA-Developers that could check this, via booting a zip from the recovery manager.

Well, good luck on your custom ROM journey. I still have an HTC HD2 that came with WinMO 6.5 w/Sense, but now runs kit Kat. 

It was a kickbutt phone when it was new. Hopefully yours can last as long as mine (4.5+ yrs).
