7850 vs 6950 ?

MPX309

Ok well just an update. . . I've decided against both of these and I'm going for a  660 Superclocked

Spend 10 pounds more & get an HD 7870 Tahiti LE instead, it's significantly faster than the GTX 660 & once you overclock it's even faster than the GTX 670.

This is just a never ending road of that little bit more cash isn't it. . . .  I chose the 660 because the 650 outdone the 7850 in benchmarks in custompc mag and it suggested to spend a little bit more to get the 660 haha.

But yes, I see no fault in your logic. Will post in the rig bit when I get it a card  :D

BTW I don't use my PC for movies. . . I like to keep the two separate.

Actually the GTX 650 ti boost is over hyped by nvidia shills and fanboys. If you take a look at the performance benchmarks numbers it goes against what many people and even professionals say. In short the HD 7850 is just plain faster than the GTX 650 ti boost.

Look at the numbers in most game the HD 7850 is faster or on par.

The 650 did not outperform the HD 7850 in the benchmarks.

Listen, the magazine says the 650ti out performed the hd 7850, but said for a couple pound more to ge the 660. . . So that is what I am going to do. . . I doubt weather they are fanboys. . . the only person who sounds like a fanboy is u, the little remarks u make against the 660 don't hold any weight sorry.  But thanks for your input.

The magazine is wrong the numbers and facts dictate that the HD 7850 is faster. That magazine was most likely paid off by the nvidia marketing department to skew the numbers and give is a glowing review.

Even Logan from Tek Syndicate said he thinks the blacks offer more detail on his HD 7870. I agree that Radeon has better colors and black levels and AA algorithms than nvidia.

I wouldn't declare the 7850 a winner over the 660. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/783?vs=778

The cards have already dropped as low as the will go. You get Metro LL and that's as good as it will get to be honest.

The 560ti dropped to 230$ when the 660ti came out so I dont see why it would drop so far...
