7850 vs 6950 ?

MPX309

It will be Titan LE for and steep price.

i think its worth it as long as it is $600 or less. this is just my opinion so take it for what it is.

because $600 for a underclocked titan that cant OC as much as a titan is a good deal if you ask me :)

The money is not in the high end it is in the mid range and lower mid range. Titan was made as a marketing spectacle just cause they can and to say we have the fastest card. Only people that are extreme fan boy's and that are fan boys with to much money to spend bought Titan. Radeon HD still has the fastest card that the most amount of people are able to own.

Get the HD 7850 for sure because it has better Tessellation and DX11 performance plus it runs allot cooler and quieter generally speaking. Oh and plus "AMD Radeon HD NeverSettle" Drivers and games.

LOL don't use them graphs because the numbers were skewed and it is far to vaguely generalized.

Yes that's a generalized round em up and not very apples to apples.

You can go into any specific test & see the results for yourself if you so desire, but having all the numbers summarized in one chart is still more convenient.

See thats what i am talking about. The metric is flawed they have an HIS Radeon HD 7790 iCooler Turbo 1 GB @ 245 fps and an Gigabyte GeForce GTX 680 2 GB SLI

@ 146 fps LOL. http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2012-vga-gpgpu/04-Metro-2033-DirectX-11-A-Entry,2940.html

Oh man the HD 7850 is what you need than. It can max any game out with those frame rates.

I have a 2gb 6950 flashed to the 6970 bios - if your willing to turn settings down, it will run anything. I even play some games in eyefinity with no issues. LFS (live for speed) will run 5760x1080 on full settings at 60+ fps.

Although I am now saving for 2 7970's to be able to run more stuff at that res.

I can run tombraider etc. all fine, just need to be selective with what u leave maxed.

Tomb Raider is a really really taxing game and it will bring an HD 7970 GHZ to it's knees @ 1080P.

I feel tress FX is just a gimmick it doesnt even look that good. Also im just showing how the game can run on an older card. I said as long as your selective with your settings your fine.

The game scales great but sans AA and TressFX is not maxed out. Turning on AA and TressFX will bring a 7970 to is knees. I agree TressFX sucks and hair just like that was already done by nvidia in Alice Madness Returns so it's nothing new and revolutionary.

well my card will run tombraider maxed out, but 25-30fps isn't where i want to play. I built a rig for my cousin and he has the 7850, and hes got no issues, but nor do I. I just wanted to state the viability of the older generation card.

from what ive heard the performance difference is questionable.

maybe you could post your fps on the high setting in tombraider, so the OP can see a fair comparison.

Ok the time is coming close to get my card and I did have my heart set on a 6850 Sapphire but I see the 6950 is £15 more, and was just wondering if it's worth spending the extra £15?

I mean common sense tells me it is. . . But still thought I'd ask

CPU is a i5 2300, monitor will be 1920 x 1080 at 60 hz

EDIT: Wrote the wrong cards originally in title.

the 6950 is a large jump in power i would recomend that any day. iv had a 6850, 6870, 6950 and 6970 and the price for power is the 6950 its a lot better then the 6850. also y not a 7950?

Indeed it's nothing new or revolutionary but TR TressFX hair is far better than Alice Madness Return hair physx which the latter look kinda dull.
