So I started building a system with an amd processor and it does not want to boot. I think it is the cpu because if unplugged the system keeps running but when plugged in it boots into bios and turns off. The cpu is also extremely hot.

do you have the cpu cooler installed? are all power cables connected to the mobo, 24 pin + 4(or 8) pin?

Sorry for the double post I pressed back and posted it again on accident. We have the heatsink installed and everything is plugged in

check your ram sticks. plug one in and power on and see if it boots to bios.
