Will Russia be investing in their own processors?

Gachr

ITAR-TASS is informing that the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade is considering replacing AMD and Intel units with their own, made in Russia ARM CPU's.

The CPU's would be designed and developed by companies called T-Platforms (supercomputer manufacturer) and Rostec ("defence" industry, whatever it means) and Rosano (goverment's technological company). The processors would be based on ARM Cortex-A57 with 64bit architecture and 2GHz frequency.

The whole deal would be worth lots of money, the government market is estimated to be worth about 3.5 billions USD.

A bit of humor:

We already know that the CPU's would have Put-in mounting system ;)
