testing a pre-filled watercooler

Is there a way to test a Watercooler before you install it to make sure it works properly?

Maybe plugging it in putting a thermometer on the plate? or touching it to see if it is cold?

OSX sucks -.-

You could always plug it to your power supply and jump the 24 pin

Mount it to the motherboard, boot up, look at tempts in the bios, turn off if it doesn't.

You don't even have to short out the power supply. Just plug it into your PC unconnected to the CPU and unattached to the case and then start the PC, if you hear the pump start then it works.

water cooling doesn't get colder. water-cooling takes what is hot (the coolant) and pulls the

heat out to temperatures of ambient (room temperature).

only way to verify function would be installation, to verify operation like others have said,

simply slave the unit to power and listen for pump and fan controller.

peltier and refrigeration get colder than ambient temperatures.

Has anyone ever actually done a peltier build? I would love to see one and the temps they got.
