All the choices....

I am doing a $400 gaming rig, but I am cought up on the processor. I made two parts lists, one with a A10-7700k and FM2+ motherboard, and an i3-4350 and a Gigabyte H97 motherboard. My question is, what one do I get? The AMD one is $20 more than the intel one because of the motherboard, but I'm not going to get the intel one just because of one sole reason of it being $20 cheaper.

What GPU have you chosen?

If you have a GPU avoid AMD APUs they suck compared to comparitively priced dedicated CPUs from AMD.

If you got a GPU stick to Intel

otherwise the APU is good by itself

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

OK can you post up your intended specs? Maybe use PCpartpicker to make the lists and then we can see if any recommendations can be made to help out with this budget.

slightly higher in price

for 10 dollars more the 7850K is just better than the 7700K
and APU will love you giving him 2133MHz RAMs as the iGPU uses the system RAM as VRAM

edit:

almost forget a nice cooler to replace the horrible stock cooler

with the good air cooler

you can OC the iGPU for more power
