People I need help

Actually, he is a complete noob. Has no brand preference. I am teaching him to just look for performance, not branding.

ah then the 280 will be a value buy and 3GB of VRAM over the GTX 760 2GB

The R9 280 usually comes at a similar price and sometimes is less than the GTX 760, so why not. Also, 3 free games!

As for CPU-choice. If you can get an i5 at that price-point, then why the hell not.

All right then, but there could be changes in case, mobo, etc., if you want.

Are there any specific changes you would recommend?

My friend wants to get himself into PC gaming, and I am trying to help with the build. His budget is around 600$, and I have already got one build picked out http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hWcVGX, however I don't know if this is as could as it could be. He wants to play BF4, watch dogs, titan fall, etc and it look better than his PS4. Can you guys help me out? It's ok to go over some, but don't be wild. Also, if you could make another build for around 1000$ that would suite his fancy and let me know how big of a performance advantage there would be. I want him set up to get 60 fps at 1080p. Any and all help would be appreciated, Thanks!

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Not really. If he wants a larger case, then he could switch to something else. Aside from that, I don't really know since I'm not your friend who isn't that tech savvy to begin with according to you.
