My friend wants to get himself into PC gaming, and I am trying to help with the build. His budget is around 600$, and I have already got one build picked out http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hWcVGX, however I don't know if this is as could as it could be. He wants to play BF4, watch dogs, titan fall, etc and it look better than his PS4. Can you guys help me out? It's ok to go over some, but don't be wild. Also, if you could make another build for around 1000$ that would suite his fancy and let me know how big of a performance advantage there would be. I want him set up to get 60 fps at 1080p. Any and all help would be appreciated, Thanks!

You have chosen a APU, which is meant for machines without a GPU, and a GPU... Not good :)

Hang on and I will see if I can find something :)

Yeah, go for that one :) Although I am not a big fan of that case at all... Also: BF4 is kinda CPU intensive so maybe get a better CPU?

so aside from the cpu hitch on bf4, would this handle other games pretty well around 60fps?

Sure, games nowadays aren't really that CPU intensive most of the time so you will be fine :)

yeah it should do just fine in other games with BF4 you could probably Play in 720P and get close to 60fps if not more once you overclock the CPU and Video card. you may be able to get 60fps at 1080p and from what I hear the Athlon X4 760K is a super good overclocker especially with a good cooler

the 760K on a proper air cooler will clock up to 5GHz max!!!

and the GTX760 will let you game at 1080P Ultra on BF4

A88X should be plenty for OC the 760K

The i5-4460 one. You get a powerful i5 and a powerful R9 280 which is better than a GTX 760 while being at a similar price. The issue is dealing with the rebates - the sole reason it's under $700. I hate rebates.

Which you can do with my builds too. I just didn't bother with putting them in there since you can always get one later.  -_-

There's that $55 120GB Kingston SSD people were talking about, but decided against it for ethical reasons.

while the i5 4460 will wins hands down over the 760K

actually the AMD 280 is quite similar to the GTX760 in terms of performance

the 280 is the rebrand of the HD7950 boost and the GTX760 is the rebrand of the GTX670

both will trade blows in terms of game benchmarks

The R9 280 usually comes at a similar price and sometimes is less than the GTX 760, so why not. Also, 3 free games!

As for CPU-choice. If you can get an i5 at that price-point, then why the hell not.

All right then, but there could be changes in case, mobo, etc., if you want.
