RAM memory false warning message, any ideas ?

Go to solution Solved by jmaster299,

It is a known issue with Windows 8 and there is nothing you can do about it. Disabling the warning won't make the problem go away as the warning is not actually false. The issue is Windows 8 will randomly cause a memory leak when playing full screen games. It does not affect everyone, hence it being random. There is no known user end fix at the moment.

Hey there im having a problem where just about any game I am running I get a message from my PC saying "your computer is low on memory.safe files and close programs ""...game im running...""  ".
I have 16Gb of ram and for example in the latest occrence its useing 3.7Gb of ram.

This message seems to have no effect on the game apart from Alt+tabbing me out of the game to show me the message, was just wondering if anyone might have any ideas why this might be happening ?

**side note** i also have the problem where task manager seems to think my i7 4770k only ever stays at 0.80Ghz and AI suite gives an correct reading.

I've never seen this before, myself, but maybe you don't have enough room for your page file?  Are you running an SSD? If so, maybe try moving the windows page file to a different drive (ie. a physical drive).  Just google "move windows page file" for instructions, it's pretty simple.

Aside from that I'm stumped.

Go into your settings in control panel and turn those notifications off. Idk exactly where they are located, but you should find them by looking around a little :) Someone on the forum not long ago also had the same problem and turned it off in control panel.

This is just windows 8 being a derp, there is nothing to worry about.
