IPS vs TN for competitive games.

I play alot of competitive games. Like CSGO, LOL, SSF etc.  I'm currently running 2 24" 60hz monitors. i want to upgrade to 3 for the occasional Nvdia surround game but mostly just for work space.

I'm having trouble deciding. Do i just buy 1 120/144hz monitor to put in between my current monitors or go buy 3 IPS? i really think i would appreciate the 120/144hz more than the colours of IPS. that being said i've used a 120hz and loved it. But i've never experienced IPS other than walking through a store.

But for the most part i feel like the downsides i hear about TN like "poor viewing angles" are kinda stupid. i mean i'm sitting right infront of it, im not gonna try to play on weird angles regardless.

please link any suggestions!

TL;DR - more FPS vs Pretty colours in competitive games.

Unless you really need the extra frames, go IPS.

For FPS's you'd probably want TN and for everything else IPS.

Ive said this plenty of times.. Do you see pros using anything but tn 120/144hz? No.. So its safe to assume where your money should be spent. I went 120hz and cant stand gaming on 60hz anymore. Untill we get some IPS 120/144hz TN panels are the only real option for competitive fps gaming.

Yes, the pro's do use 120/144Hz. The BenQ XL series is the standard monitor used for several CS:GO global tournaments.
